چکیده

" Tuberculous Iritis."?Vignes distinguishes clinically between the period of nodular growth in the iris and the period of antecedent inflammation, which may precede the formation of tubercular nodules by many weeks. The onset ?f the premonitory inflammation is very insidious, its progress is slow, there is little appearance of inflammation, but many dense synechia are Present. Diagnosis is very difficult. The disease may spontaneously subside without the development of nodules, this is due to individual resistance and to the resistant power of the iris itself, which, as has been demonstrated on animals, is very great, and probably is a more important factor than attenuation of the bacillus and its toxins.?(Bee. d' Ophtalmologie, April 1894.)

Ocular penetration and efficacy of chloroethyldeoxyuridine against herpetic keratouveitis.

Topical administration of 0.1% or 1% chloroethyldeoxyuridine eyedrops caused a significant reduction in the severity of experimental herpes simplex iritis and stromal keratitis in rabbits. The healing effect caused by chloroethyldeoxyuridine was comparable to that obtained with 0.1% and 0.5% bromovinylde-oxyuridine eyedrops. The drug levels achieved in the anterior chamber fluid following topic...

Rheumatic iritis and iridocyclitis.

Every text-book of ophthalmology mentions "rheumatic" iritis and iridocyclitis, either as the sole manifestation of the rheumatic state or as one of a series of rheumatic symptoms.
